Business and financial literacy are key elements to the success of any community. RFDF has partnered with Denali Advisors), the largest Native American owned institutional asset management firm, to develop and deploy a set of short-courses to increase the business acumen of the farmworking community.
miniMBA University courses are divided into the following categories:
- Investor Series - courses related to subjects related to personal finance skills, including budgeting, savings, and investing.
- Owner Series - courses to teach the basics of starting a small business, including business plan development, marketing, and small business operations.
- Manager Series - practical courses on leadership and management of people and organizational resources.
- General Business Skills - classes on practical business skills. "Hard Skills" courses include financial analysis, time value of money, and using MS Excel as a business tool. "Soft Skills" courses include the art of networking, public speaking, and effective communication.
